🏛️ State License Law 📍 Colorado

📖 What you need to know

Brokers in Colorado must keep clients' and customers' money (earnest money and other escrow funds) in a separate trust or escrow account, never commingling it with the broker's own operating funds. The Colorado Real Estate Commission also requires licensees to use Commission-approved standard forms for most transactions rather than drafting their own contracts. To renew an active broker license, licensees must complete continuing education on a recurring cycle, including required Annual Commission Update (ACU) coursework, before the license expires.
